I missed last week’s Song Lyric Sunday because I had to work 😦 so it’s nice to take part again this week. Helen’s suggested theme this time is a song about missing someone you love. There are so many possibilities! But as I’ve posted songs that remind me of my parents and my daughters in the last couple of weeks, here’s one which reminds me of my husband. I used to listen to this song a lot when I was working in Oxford and he was in Sheffield, many years ago before we got married.
“Home Again”
Sometimes I wonder if I’m ever gonna make it home again
It’s so far and out of sight
I really need someone to talk to, and nobody else
Knows how to comfort me tonight
Snow is cold, rain is wet
Chills my soul right to the marrow
I won’t be happy till I see you alone again
Till I’m home again and feeling right
Snow is cold, rain is wet
Chills my soul right to the marrow
I won’t be happy till I see you alone again
Till I’m home again and feeling right
Till I’m home again and feeling right
I wanna be home again and feeling right

This is a great song. Though single with no children, I can relate to it when it comes to certain family members or long-lost friends.
