Song Lyric Sunday: Movin’ on Up

SongLyricSundayThis week’s Song Lyric Sunday prompt from Helen was a song about the sun. So here’s a song that doesn’t mention sunshine at all! (although lyrics like ‘my light shines on’ and ‘I’m out of the darkness’ must count, right?)

Whenever I listen to it, I feel as if I’m 20 years old again, dancing on a hot summer night in my Doc Martens and chunky beads, drinking beer and feeling on top of the world. Primal Scream, thank you for this song!

I was blind, now I can see, you made a believer out of me
I was blind, now I can see, you made a believer out of me

I’m moving on up now, getting out of the darkness
My light shines on, my light shines on, my light shines on

I was lost, now I’m found, I believe in you, I’ve got no bounds
I was lost, now I’m found, I believe in you, I got no bounds

I’m moving on up now, getting out of the darkness
My light shines on, my light shines on, my light shines on
(My light shines on) my light shines on
(My light shines on) my light shines on

My light shines on, my light shines on
My light shines on, my light shines on
I’m getting outta darkness, my light shines on (my light shines on)

etc.
