I’ve enjoyed taking part in Kat’s weekly Twittering Tales challenge to write a tweet-sized story in response to a photo prompt. But my goodness, this one was difficult! I’ve been staring at this picture since Tuesday and scratching my head. What’s it all about? Who is she? Clothes like that make me think of some kind of ancient fortune teller but the modern day debris dumped in the undergrowth and the plastic bag she’s carrying won’t let me take that angle. Poor old lady, trudging along that muddy path in her bad outfit. What else could I do but turn you into science fiction?
Humans saw our alpha-numeric system as floral patterns, my map as eccentric clothing. The portal was around the corner. I was nearly home.

Great sci-fi take on the prompt!

Thanks, I got so frustrated with not being able to catch hold of any ideas, I just decided to go off on a complete tangent!

I can definitely relate to the frustration of not being able to catch hold of ideas. Sometimes, going on a tangent is the best way to go!

Glad you enjoyed it! Please can we have an easier prompt next week?! (only kidding, it’s good to be challenged!)

That could be a new genre maybe… fiction about ski-ing?!

Haha! If I wrote it, it would be fiction. Haven’t ski-ed since I was a teenager! 😉
