Song Lyric Sunday: a song with no lyrics

So Helen’s prompt for this week was a song about predicting the future, or fortune telling. Folks, I’ve got nothing. No inspiration whatsoever. So I’m just going to share a random song I was listening to this evening. I blame the fact that my kids did this (and more) to the kitchen in a baking session this afternoon, I’ve been trying to repair the damage for the last six hours and I’m on my third glass of wine.

Yesterday I was telling a good friend who knows far more about music than me, about how I always listen to the same few bands. Well while I was mopping the walls tonight I suddenly remembered that I used to listen to the Cocteau Twins a lot back in the days when I had a wooden stereo, so I hunted them out on Spotify. This one might be a bit … elfin… for some people’s tastes, but I like it.

Once you’ve listened to this, you’ll see why I’m not bothering to reproduce the lyrics. Happy Sunday night everyone!

  1. I was singing along, so, for those who want to join in, here are the words!

    Men don’t tell much
    Through the heart and breast
    Men don’t have that much
    Through the heart and breast

    Men don’t have much
Felt it from the heart again
(For those who accieve this grace)
    Don’t hold that against me
Felt it from the heart again
(For those who accieve this grace)

    Mistakes
    Whisked away
    Away and
    Be joyful and joyful
    (Be joyful and joyful)
    Mistakes
    Whisked away
    Away and
    Be joyful and joyful
With all the feelings on the ground

    Men don’t have much
    (Through the heart)
    Through the heart and breast
    The only way in

    Men don’t have much
    (Through the heart)
    Through the heart and breast
    The only way in

    Men don’t have much
    (Through the heart)
    Through the heart and breast
    The only way in

    Men don’t have much
    (Through the heart)
    Through the heart and breast
    The only way in

  2. You know, I actually liked this one. And I totally get it… sometimes life happens on a more intense level than normal and it totally kills inspiration and/or creativity. I’m always surprised when it happens, although I shouldn’t be by now. Thanks so much for playing!
