Haunted Coast Part IX


The half empty pub fell silent when I walked in. I ordered, chose a corner table, opened my book, to sly whispering:

New tenant… out at White Gables…

Alone? Gone by next week I reckon. They never last.

I ate, staring grimly at my book.


I looked up, into a pair of dark eyes.
