  1. Reblogged this on Wonderwall and commented:
The prompt this week was FRIENDSHIP. There has been some touching stories written and it is now time to vote until 9pm GMT.

I wanted to draw analogies about friends around the ship part of the word. My problem was having too much to say for 6 words! I wanted to mention the good times with friends sailing along but them mention how friends help you navigate rough seas.

I think everyone has gone for really sweet prompts, Kirsty’s starting prompt talked about a friendship into the 80s. Like romantic relationships, it sounds idyllic to meet someone and grow old with them alas, in both cases this does not always happen. Perhaps you have different friends at different times or friends grew apart and back together at various times. I tried to find a way to talk about how the crew of the ship may change, but the important thing was not to be on the ship alone. In the end this lead me to the thoughts of being shipwrecked alone or thrown off a ship and that loneliness is cured by the offering of friendship from someone else. I’m not sure whether this is what someone would get from the 6 words alone.

Castaway rescued by the ship friendship.
